Increase your exposure on Europlayers

I recently checked the statistics on Europlayers (which profiles are the most visited, etc.) and noticed some similarities between them. I have come up with the following list (or tips) which I think you might be interested in if you want to increase your exposure:

  • Complete your profile carefully.
  • Don’t lie: be honest on your profile or when a team contacts you.
  • Get your passport ready: if you are not European you will need one to come over. As it usually takes a few weeks to get one, get ready now.
  • Upload your film: a film is like a commercial. It doesn’t necessarily need to be long. Teams that are seriously interested will usually ask for the full game film so upload a short one (for example on YouTube) and put a link to it on your profile.
  • Display a face picture: Players and Coaches can upload up to 3 pictures. People feel more comfortable doing business with you if they can see your face so make sure one of your picture is a face one.
  • Specify your nationality: teams need to know where you are from so don’t forget to specify your nationality on your profile.
  • Get some reviews: get someone to write a review about yourself or your team. Again, don’t lie: no need to ask your best friend, ask a former coach or a former team to write it. Also, keep in mind that the review has to be informative to people reading it otherwise it is useless.
  • Be reactive: check your messages regularly. If you take too long to reply to a message, the sender will think you’re not serious about the game.
  • Be proactive: don’t wait for the teams to contact you, contact them first.

I agree completely on the pointers given to players wanting come overseas. A complete profile with background information, photos and film is so much better than a line of text with no information. Film is so easy to upload today that it is very much recommended to do, makes it much easier to evaluate a player.
